Tip: Exfoliating Lips

Exfoliating is a must if you wanna rock the bold lips for fall. Prepping is key!

AT-HOME:
Apply Vaseline for about 5 min or less, use a soft clean toothbrush and lightly scrub the lips. Reapply Vaseline/Aquaphor before bed.

TO-GO:
Grab a few packets of regular sugar (not raw, not artificial) and a few packets of honey. Mix the two and scrub the lips. Apply Vaseline/Aquaphor/a good lip balm.

Rusty Hand

It's been awhile. My skin has been alot better, but now my application is rusty. Go figure!

I used one of NYX's Runway Palettes in "Champagne & Caviar." For $9, it's not that bad. Sure the colors are a bit too soft but it's workable with extra care. Great for travel, but make sure you protect it well since it can crumble easily. I just like it cause I can do several looks within one palette = always nice.

Ikea Hack

So Ikea is great for budget buys, but buying mass produced furniture can get kinda boring. In my search for a much needed makeup chair, the bf picked this up for me and I spruced it up with some black paint and a stencil.

Taken on a weekend getaway to Chicago where the bf and I went to the Signature Room for cocktails and a 360 view of Chicago at night. The Signature Room is on top of the John Hancock building right on the Magnificent Mile. We didn't plan on it, just walked around on a Sat night, saw it, and went for it. It's a scene where the elevator ride itself had to have its own "bouncer," only letting in the right number of people at a time, creating a line just for the elevators. Upon getting out the elevator was yet another line. It was so dark and exactly what you would imagine a cigar-smoking, cognac drinking kind of place to be (of course, no one smoked there now). We did a run-through and picked one of several rooms to visit. That wait was longer than the wait to get there. At last, it was our turn and luck has it that we were offered a spot for two right by the ceiling to floor windows. You can't see much in that photo but it's a photo we waited much too long to take! Oh yeah, as we sat gazing out the windows, we overheard a guy proposed to his gf. Yes, overheard because we were so close. Kinda awkward spot to propose but I guess she said yes!

Travel Makeup

You would think that a makeup junkie would carry a substantial travel makeup kit big enough to makeover the whole hotel but I'd like to think I am quite humble when it comes to traveling with makeup, that is, if vanity can be humbling. Hmmm.....

This is my usual travel bag - compact zebra, awesome cause it's easy to find in my luggage and I won't forget it upon checkout.

And this is all I use on a trip:

face moisturizer / spf
eye cream w/ spf
cream foundation w/ spf
cream concealer in 2 shades
blush & bronzer duo
mineralize skinfinish pressed powder
one quad of eyeshadow
black kohl eyeliner
black liquid eyeliner
eyelash curler
black mascara
tweezers
lipstick, gloss, and lipbalm (always in my bag or pocket)
makeup wipes
hair styling gel
hair elastics, minis and regs
solid perfume

The reason why I bring cream foundation is b/c it's super versatile. That's why pro artists love creams. If I wanted a sheer tinted moisturizer, I would mix my face lotion with some cream foundation, instead of bringing a separate tinted moisturizer bottle. Sometimes I only use the concealer and powder combo (contour and cover and then finish off with powder). Palette forms of anything is awesome for travel. The quad of eyeshadow is perfect because I can do simple daytime neutrals like below and smokey for evenings as well. I also never carry liquid perfumes anymore, solids are the way to go.

And the following brushes:

Fast, easy, simple.

This just goes to prove that brands don't just stick to their own brands. You'll be surprised at how many will not use their own stuff even in promotional campaigns. And here goes a perfect example:

Don't recognize that palette? It's Ben Nye Lumiere Grand palette found here for about $60. This baby is fantastic, amazing color payoff and it comes with alot of product. Also very easy to blend. Ben Nye's products are mostly for stage/theater makeup so it's a bit heavy for everyday use, but when you want a punch of color, this palette does the job.

I have acquired quite a few MAC pigments and even have some duplicates of some colors I didn't know I have already. I need to get rid of them somehow...

Would any of you be interested in sample sizes of MAC pigments? How should I do this? I don't feel like eBay, and I'm more than happy to mail off some packets. Plus, my 4 readers won't warrant an official giveaway. Hahaha!

* Please know that I am super clean when it comes to makeup. I always scoop out with a sanitized spoon onto a palette and never double-dip. Yes it matters very much that I do so. Pretty OCD when it comes to this kind of stuff, even stored in an air-tight container. Yup....

My Fav Summer Products

Just cause the weather outside is in the high 90s, I don't REALLY want to look like I've been out in the sun. Seriously, it needs to rain. My bro told me New Orleans had a session of cats and dogs the other day and I was so jealous. That's how hot it is.

Anywho, on with my list. Everything on here has been used and loved by moi for WEEKS now. I'm trying to be loyal to my products and use 'em til it's gone. So here we go:

FOR GLOWY SKIN:
Vaseline Cocoa Butter Line
After my bout with a skin allergy, my skin became really dry and itchy and I was getting small scars actually. Horrible thing to experience, especially when summer was here and I was dying in my cover-ed up clothes. I picked this up to try out since EUCERIN and AVEENO didn't work! About a week after consistent use, I noticed that my legs are MUCH MORE even-toned (awesome) and had a natural glow. My legs are never like this before. I also went to a wedding reception and the first thing someone told me was that I glowed. Vaseline rocks.

FOR BRONZED FACE:
Dior Bronze Original Tan
I like my bronzers almost matte. ALOT of bronzers out there are so packed with shimmery stuff that I wonder who actually uses this stuff and not look wet in this hot weather. People tend to think that matte bronzers are for older folks or is aging. I would argue otherwise. You would only put shimmer on highlighted areas, not darkened areas, since shimmer is what light reflects off of and brings forth the high features on the face. Bronzers are suppose to darken the areas you want to recede, such as the perimeter and hollows of the face. I use Shade 02 in Honey Tan. Smashbox also makes a good matte bronzer. Pick a shade that's not too red in tone and is 3-4 shades darker than your own skin. Use with a really puffy powder brush and dust along temples, hollows of cheeks, jawline, hairline, and sides of nose.

FOR SMOOTH EVEN FOUNDATION:
Lorac AquaPrime Oil-Free Primer
LOVE this primer for summer. If your skin tends to get really shiny with previous primers, it may be the high-silicone content. Silicone is what layers on top of skin making it appear much smoother, but it also acts somewhat like a wax, trapping oils on the surface, making some people break out when used alot. When you want your makeup to last in the heat, you need something light to go with light makeup, nothing heavy at all for the summer or it'll will melt right off your face. This primer has no oil, parabens, sulfates, fragrances, dyes, petro-chemicals, and phthalates = great for sensitive skin! I have absolutely no problems with it.

FOR THAT GLOW ON YOUR FACE:
Mac Strobe Liquid
I use this in conjunction with my Dior bronzer in the following areas: forehead, above eyebrows, top of cheekbone, bridge of nose, chin. It's diffuses light enough but not too shimmery. Sometimes I mixed 2 pumps into my liquid foundation to make it sheer and brighten up my whole face. And so far, no skin reactions. You can mix it in body lotions too.

FOR PINK/CORAL LIPS:

Love pinks and corals for summer daytime looks, really freshens and brightens the face. For nighttime looks, can't go wrong with a warm nude topped with gold shimmery gloss.

Hautelook (love this site) had a Smashbox sale a few weeks ago and I'm so glad I didn't hold out and bought 11 items - half for my own supply & half for my pro kit.

I've been struck with a skin allergy that has gotten so horrible I didn't step out in public for awhile. Yes, THAT BAD. And the worse thing is, I still don't know what caused it.

Honest to goodness truth.

Needless to say, makeup was NOT an option. Moreso, I am absolutely horrified that it left me with undereye wrinkles I SWEAR didn't exist before. =( Major dilemna....

So until my next post, I'm hoping a miracle will happen!

Hair is one thing I don't know much about. I don't really know how to maintain and style my own hair - just the basics. Like right now, I'm long overdue for a cut months ago. Even in my state of bedhead, I still buy hair products if it claims to do something I'm hoping to make up for my slack. I read about Organix Coconut Milk in Lucky magazine and I am hooked! I raided my local CVS and fell in love first with the tropical coconut smell and then the result even after one use.

These are the two I'm currently using. The conditioner turned my shower into a tropical paradise. It smelled like I'm on vacation. Used the Vanilla Silk serum on damp hair afterwards and voila - super smooth and SOFT hair.

Runs about $7 / bottle and comes in a variety of intoxicating fragances...yum.

Basically, I did like it as my light moisturizer (not emollient ). I have combo/oily skin so I only need a light one. If you have dry skin, this might not be enough for you but it'll still make your skin soft. Can't say that I love it and can't live without it, but I'll still use it til its done.

Merlot Eye Cream - $12 @ Walgreens / 3 out of 5

This scrub was better than most drugstore brands. The beads are very fine and not chunky and harsh like St. Ives Apricot Scrub. It does the job very well considering the small price and you don't need alot at all. I still consider the Physician's Complex the best microdermabrasion scrub ever though, but it's at a higher price point of $55-65.

Merlot Purifying Peel-Off Mask - $16 @ Walgreens / 1 out of 5

+ removes impurities

- super hard to peel off!

Wow, I never hated a mask so much in my life. It dried to a shiny clear finish but was seriously so thin, I spent alot of time just taking it off, eventually reaching for the scrub to scrub it away. Totally not worth the effort...

MAC: A Rose Collection

No one is really gonna walk around looking like that (except the MUAs, of course), so I tried toning it down for everyday.

And then I took it off because I don't like to wear too much frost on my eyes. Sometimes, I buy it just cause the colors look pretty awesome but I hardly ever use it on myself. I like matte/satin finishes for myself. But when I use frosty stuff on others, it looks wayyy better, probably because I take more time blending on others than myself. Aahhhh...go figure.

Sometimes it's ok to mess up! It's just makeup, you can always take it off. =)

Eve Pearl Cosmetics

After reading and watching Eve Pearl online for like a month, I decided to give in and try out her line. I ran out makeup reserved for those special occasions (liquid foundation for me) and with approaching weddings and whatnot, I had to get something.

The foundation is definitely buildable in coverage and a little goes a looooong way. I do notice a more flawless finish (smooth, even-toned skin) and doesn't come off as "too pink." If you're looking for alot of coverage, this is a good one (esp if you're gonna be photographed). But as always with cream/liquid foundations on me, my face gets a little too shiny in a few hours (even if I set with powder).

Her famous concealer is pretty good for undereyes. It's not a 100% fix persay, but it gets the job done nicely (better than most). It's much more thin in consistency than the Laura Mercier Secret Concealer, and it also doesn't settle into fine lines as much. Again, a little goes a long way! I still think the LM Secret Concealer is a good dupe.

This is where I find my purchase getting weak. The priming lotion doesn't stand as to me as better than others on the market. And I can say the same thing about the mattifying gel. It didn't work on me! My face still got shiny! Maybe I'm doing it wrong to some point but I've tried alot of primers and gels out there and this doesn't compare to me. =(

Overall, her line is pricey, but you don't go all out on your foundation that much anyways. This is a bit too much for everyday I think. But for special occasions or photoshoots, this is great. I don't mind paying more for a good foundation when the time calls for it.

This is making me very curious about MUFE HD Foundation now....

NYX Haul of My Decade

I hope the bf isn't reading this (as much as he doesn't like MAC computers, he sure loves to use my MacBook Pro). Anyways, so I came across a few blogs screaming about a NYX lot sale. I had no clue that NYX sells off stuff in huge lots for super cheap! So, you guessed it, I bought two lots. And it made me very very happy. =D

You bet I'm gonna depot these babies. It's a real chore but I find it strangely addicting.

As hounded by my cousin, swatches of all 30 lipsticks. I've never done this many swatches at once and have a new respect for bloggers. I really don't know how they keep up with it all!

I was worried that I won't be able to use the colors but it's awesome that they packaged colors that I would definitely use. I would say a good 85% of them are awesome colors. So if you're wondering if NYX Cosmetics are worth the few bucks, go ahead! It's a good alternative to MAC if you're on a budget or if you're a makeup artist....of if you're a bit obsessive about makeup like me. =)

P.S. They still have the lipstick lot on sale!

MAC Grand Duo & Sugarsweet

Grand Duo was just so shimmery that I had to pass (bought "Hot Planet" just to have one). I don't like having my cheeks looking like disco balls. But this one wasn't so bad as long as I keep buffing it in. It is seriously pigmented tho. Seriously.

Now Sugarsweet was much more do-able. This much do-able.

I know right? And I thought I was gonna buy the WHOLE collection, so I'm actually glad I didn't.

How pretty is the second one, Lollipop Loving! Wonder why I didn't pick it up earlier when it came out with Heatherette. But since I love coral-anything, I had to get it this time.

Ok, who told MAC to make these cause the tri-color glosses barely have any color payoff.

And the two MSF are so pretty, making it my favorite buys of the collection. These aren't too pigmented but I love how they're not too shimmery. I just have to use a dense brush to buff on the color...and it is very pretty! So glad I bought both. I actually use "Refined" (the first one) on top of "Hot Planet" to offset the disco ball effect. Super pretty result.

For years, being a magazine editor was my dream job. I didn't know then the exact pressure of being one, just the fact that I love the idea of being the one to design my input onto a glossy magazine page. Fast forward a few years, I found myself gravitating towards the beauty section of Allure, Lucky, Glamour, Style, ect. Those were the pages that I made my eyes lit up to examine whether or not my own beloved beauty hits made the running. As I studied layouts, color choices, and wording, I thought, "Damn, I can do that!" And thus, I wanted to be a beauty editor.

The other day I came around to watching my free iTunes download of "Running in Heels" by the Style Channel. Joanna Coles from Leeds, UK is editor-in-chief, Nina Garcia from Project Runway is the newly appointed fashion director, and 3 interns make up the gist of the show. It basically follows the girls as they try to make it at Marie Claire.

Ok I know reality TV isn't really reality and it's just for ratings and publicity. But after watching just ONE episode of this show, I no longer feel the urge to pick up/buy/subscribe to this magazine (other mags in tow). Not only do I feel an unattractiveness about these women, but I no longer admire the once coveted jobs. I didn't see the appeal of talking about getting one's hair messed up as being the most nightmarish event that can happen to me during fashion week. I didn't appreciate the UNappreciation of ANY help these women get, whether it be a cup of coffee, or running for an outfit pickup. The only upside these women seem to enjoy are the perks of meeting designers, wearing designers, and being seen with designers (and celebrities). In other words, "THE MONEY SHOT" is the most important thing to these women.

I do love designers and luxury, don't get me wrong. It is definitely a nice perk and TONS of us ladies would love it. It just gets to me when the labels and price tags gets to the best of us and ruins the most simplest and purest form of self. In other words, self-preservation is truly important once you hit it big. A simple "thank you" or a smile can go a LONG way. Nowadays, we are so attuned to our Blackberries and HDTV and TMZ that life seems to go at 160mph and we just don't even feel it.

I will always love the beauty writing but no longer do I long for the glitzy magazine empire. Nylon magazine featured Garance Dore, fashion illustrator/blogger, mentioning that she used to send her illustrations to top magazines but felt they were too constrictive for her. Thus her amazing blog was born. I wasn't the only one!

The pictures don't do these justice but I swear the top 3 fits me in just the right way. I won't buy short shorts or skirts higher than mid-thigh, which sound easy for most girls, but my 5'8 height says otherwise. It makes me look hoochie! haha, So I have to buy longer length stuff, which isn't as easy to find as the short stuff. I don't know how many times I have to put things back on the rack because it was way too short!

Anyways, love the high-waisted shorts and linen skirts (with pockets!). I can't wait for those shoes to come in. I can think of so many ways to wear 'em already.

Pink or Naked?

MAC's Cremeteam gloss in "Melt In Your Mouth" $18 has been my latest "nude pink." I haven't been buying as much MAC due to recession-depression. So I snuck in one purchase. =X I was told that this formula is like the Dazzleglass collection minus the glitter. I'm glad it doesn't feel goopy or sticky; if it was I would've thrown it out! It's still very sheer so you can def layer it over anything. When doing a nude lip, I always layer over concealer instead. Works every time.

Houston Heights

On a recent city excursion for places I can fall in love with, I found a building that fashion/design-savvy people would love in the Houston Heights. This historic part of Houston located above I-10 is where you can find antiques and home decor boutiques, along with vintage shops and "lazy sunday" cafes. Spread out around the shopping blocks are old, large, and very beautiful victorian homes. And since I am a New Orleans girl at heart, anything that resembles my fine hometown will win me over.

Joyous is one of my favorite blushes. I love coral colors. And even after I tried Dior's new mascara Iconic, I still find myself reaching for the CoverGirl. I'm relieved... =) Been laying low on the makeup so my skin can breathe. And by doing so, my lashes have gotten more full. Go figure!

Peppermint Bark

I LOVE William Sonoma's Peppermint Bark $26. I love anything minty and chocolately for that matter. And William Sonoma hit the spot with their Peppermint Bark. I thought it was way too easy to make, and I was right. The bf helped me find the right ingredients.

Bittersweet chocolate
White chocolate
Crushed peppermint candy (I prefer candy canes.)
3 oz. heavy cream
3/4 tsp. peppermint extract (In the spices aisle.)

So I melted the reg. choc. first in a pan in the oven and chilled. Then I melted the white choc., mixed in the cream and extract using the double broiler method (which is prob. my fav part). Topped it with candy and then chilled again. Voila!

I did it in no time flat, so easy and much cheaper too. I think this makes a great candy bowl addition, as well as little gifts to F&F. Try it out!

Pair of legs and warmers

I'm on a quest to find a couple of pairs of legwarmers. Yes, I do feel like I'm reverting back to the 80s, but since I am an 80s baby, so be it. =) My mom used to make me wear tights and legwarmers with my Catholic schoolgirl uniform. It wasn't so hot back then, matter of fact, I actually hated it. I would take off the legwarmers on the schoolbus on and toss it in my bookbag before arrival.

Fast forward, and what d'ya know....my mom would certainly have her satisfaction.

I love to wear knee-high boots often but when the outfit can't pair with them, I can definitely wear my booties and flats with a pair of warmers. This time, I won't take 'em off, Mama. =)

I usually just do a simple neutral eye for work. I would love to do crazier fun colors but given the fact that I can't color coordinate at 7am, I stick to my neutral palettes.

NYX Cosmetics is a very decent cheaper makeup line. Considering the prices you pay for this makeup, you get alot of bang for your buck. I personally only use their eyeshadows and glitter liners. I have yet to swatch any of my NYX so we'll see about that...maybe someday. Haha!

Dear reader(s), I don't know how many actually read this site, especially since I've been too busy to blog. My apologies! Really, I am. It's just that when I started this new job, it's been real hectic yet fun. So when I come home after a grueling day of beautifying others, I go straight for the wine bottle. (Hey, you would too!) Anyways, that doesn't mean I don't have alot to write about on here (if not more). Just a matter of when!

Where I am in grand ole' Texas, the weather is beginning to get scorching hot. Like melt your makeup off your face hot. Don't you just hate that?! Nothing worse than a gooey slick face. Anywho, what do you do to battle that? Do you have an awesome primer/mattifier? Do you do anything special skincare regimens during the summer?

My tips for great summer makeup:
1. Maintain good skin by drinking lots of water.
2. EXFOLIATE!
3. Keep your makeup light.

If you worry about your oil production going out of whack, try a glycolic acid wash and toner.
if you worry about excessive sweating, well, I can't help ya there. =)

So far all I do in the AM is sunscreen + moisturizer, a little concealer, and a light dusting of mattifying powder. I'm testing out this makeup line that's new to me so I'll update on that later.

MAC Collection: Heatherette

Heatherette is here! Well, almost. It's available online at least. Check out the photos (even though MAC swatches are so off sometimes), and read the color descriptions. Make a list...or buy it all. It's for purchase in stores this Thursday, March 20th. You can save your list until you get to see and play with it in stores. That's personally how I can budget myself on big collection launches. I'd hate to buy it and return it, only to have them throw it away. MAC might get angry with that one day and jack up the prices some more. Don't want THAT to happen!

I have my eyes on the lipsticks and lipglasses, Reflects Gold and 3D Silver, and maybe the Pink Pearl pigment.

Review: Fafi for MAC

It's been awhile since Fafi was released and mayhem erupted in MAC stores. Fortunately, I wasn't one of those trampled in the lines. Ok, I exaggerate but that's how excited I was for it to come out. However, I did waited about a week before I made up my mind on the purchase. There were just so many to choose from! I couldn't buy it all. I ended up with a good haul.

Blushes: Hipness, Fashion Frenzy
Paint Pots: Nice Vice, Cash Flow, Perky, Layin' Low
Lipsticks: Flash N Dash, Fun N Sexy
Lipglasses: Sugar Trance, Totally It, Cult Fave

FAVS:
Hipness blush is so warm and full of color! It comes off with this great coral color payoff, great for spring and summer.

Layin' Low paint pot is my new fav eyeshadow base, much better than Painterly and Bare Study.

Flash N Dash lipstick is so fun! I must be in a coral phase because this is perfect for a big pop of color on the lips when your eyes are simple.

REVIEW:
The blushes may seem outrageous in the pot but it really is buildable and workable. Use lightly for a touch of color, dab more for that extra pop. I really think anyone can pull it off.

The paint pots are, of course, a fail-safe product. It doesn't smudge and make great bases for shadows. I like to use Paradisco e/s with Perky.

Like the blushes, the lipsticks are outrageous also. But like I said, it's totally buildable! Goes on pretty smooth and color payoff is pretty awesome.

Lipglasses are just pretty, nothing too substantial and packed with color. They're very sheer, made to layer on top of corresponding lipsticks.

MAC Collection: Heatherette (upcoming)

MAC Cosmetics teamed up with designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains to create a new collection called Heatherette, named after their own NY label. It's expected to launch March 27th, but you know how "dates" goes in the world of MAC. As with MAC, Heatherette embodies a very fun attitude of "flash and trash." Colorful and sparkly are just boundaries they easily walk over. And who doesn't like a splash of color? Check out these photos:

How about that hot pink packaging? Do you like it? It reminds me of Bubble Tape gum, remember those? This will be the next biggest MAC collection to be released after Fafi. I have my eyes on the far left e/s trio, the orange l/g, all the lipsticks, and of course, the pigments.

Top 5 Cheap Beauty Buys!

As most women do, I tend to indulge in my beauty buys. I love it as much as the next woman, but only the products, not the spending. So on a random trip to the drugstore, I realized there is a good handful of fail-safe products that will never do us wrong. Here are my top 5 must-haves!

1. Vaseline: No matter how much the industry tempts you to buy super expensive items, never forget the magical use of good 'ole Vaseline. I can't count the number of ways you can use it: lip balm, night cream, skin relief for dry and scaley skin, eczema, diaper rashes, eye makeup remover, eye gloss mixed with eyeshadows, eye lash conditioner, dry noses, minor cuts, cracked hands and cuticles, revives leather, ect! I had a skin reaction to Benzoyl Peroxide and it went completely dry and itchy and peeling like a bad sunburn. The only thing I had in my drawer then was Vaseline and coated my face overnight. The next day I can honestly say my skin was back to normal!
Tip #1: For extra dry skin, rub onto body and jump into the shower. You'll come out baby soft!
Tip #2: If you don't like the thick consistency, mix in a little vegetable glycerin (another ingredient to help skin seal in moisture).

2. CoverGirl LashBlast Waterproof Mascara $6.99: This stuff is amazing! I picked it up at my local Target and I have never regret it. In my opinion, it is comparable to Dior Show! No kidding, seriously. You know how good Dior Show is already. But this one is a keeper. Big thick brush, completely waterproof, safe for my contact lens, and cheap (especially since you have to replace mascara every 3 months anyways for sanitary reasons). It is kind of hard to wash off, you'll need a good eye makeup remover. If it's too difficult, just try the non-waterproof one!

3. e.l.f. Pro Mechanical Eyelash Curler $1: Will you believe me if I say this is comparable to Shu Uemura? Well, it's true to me. Please give this one a try, it's only $1! When you order, go ahead and load up, it's ok. Because this worked better than my former go-to shu uemura. It's easy to use, and curls magnificently all-day. When the padding wears out, just throw it out and open another.
Tip for stubborn lashes: Blow dry curler for a few seconds, touch with hand to measure heat, and curl. I swear it does wonders!

4. Ardell Brow & Lash Accelerator Treatment Gel $3.99: Do you have sparse thing lashes? Overplucked brows? Pick this up! It's a clear gel you leave on at night. With regular use, your lashes may strengthen, lengthen, or thicken, or all three if you're lucky. After a bad experience with a good-for-nothing mascara, my lashes were very weak and would fall out more often. I bought this online and used it continuously for 2 weeks and my lashes came back! No kidding. The thing is, you'll have to use it regularly. Results won't show if you skip a few days. And it very hard to find in store, I can only buy this online. Give it a try!

5. St. Ives Apricot Scrub $3.99: The best thing you can probably do for your skin is moisturize. However, if your skin is clogged with dead skin cells, it's no use slathering on your favorite lotion. Exfoliating does wonders because not only does it takes away the grime and dead skin, but it can minimize pores and help skin renew itself. Scars can slightly fade away and your pores won't cry out for some fresh air.
